From 24th June until 7th July 2013, the oldest and the most prestigious tennis tournament around the world is held in London.

Famous players like Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova and Serena and Venus Williams go to London to try and win the famous trophy and the prize money that goes with it.

Wimbledon is the only tennis court of the Grand Slam (there are four tournaments, "Majors": Australian Open, French Open -or Roland Garros-, Wimbledon Championships and US Open) to use grass.

Wimbledon traditions include a strict dress code for competitors, Royal patronage and the eating of strawberries and cream by the spectators before, during and after matches. They eat about 27,000 kilos of strawberries and 7,000 litres of cream.

The tournament is also well known for the absence of sponsor adverts around the courts.

This is a famous English thoroughbred horse racing, located in the small town of Ascot, Berkshire, UK.
It is one of the leading racecourses in the United Kingdom.
It usually takes place during twenty-six days in summertime. In 2013, it goes from Tuesday 18th to Saturday 22nd.

The course is really associated with the British Royal Family, because it is approximately six miles from Windsor Castle.
The Royal Meeting is celebrated in June, and the most prestigious race is the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes run over the course in July.
The Royal Enclosure is at the heart of Royal Ascot with exclusive viewing areas.

The dress code is strictly enforced: For women, only a day dress with a hat is acceptable, with rules applying to the length and style of the dress.
In addition, women must not show bare midriffs (tummies) or shoulders. They must to wear a special hat, but they do not have a base covering a sufficient area of the head (4 inches / 10cm).
For men, black or grey morning dress with top hat is required.
