This is a popular holiday celebrated on the night of October 31 in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland or Canada.
The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows' Eve (Evening).
It has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture).
The Celts believed that the souls of the dead visited Earth on the last day of October.
Part of the history of Halloween is Halloween costumes (devils, wizards, skeletons, witches, ghosts…) and traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties or carving jack-o-lanterns.

Mount Everest is located in the Himalayan mountain range on the border between Nepal and China. It is the highest mountain in the world at 29,029 feet (8848 metres).
Sir Edmund Hillary (from New Zealand) and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa were the first men to climb Mount Everest, in May 1953. At the summit, they took photographs, put four flags from UK (United Kingdom), UN (United Nations), Nepal and India and they also buried a cross and some food in the snow.
Since 1953, about 5,000 people have climbed Mount Everest, although over 200 have died in the attempt and over 100 dead bodies remain buried on the mountain.
The youngest person to reach the summit of Everest was only 13 years old, while the oldest person to climb Everest was 76. And one person, Aba Sherpa, has climbed to the top over twenty times, (a sherpa is a Himalayan native who helps mountaineers).
Climbing this majestic mountain has many problems, for example: in each breath taken on Mount Everest, there is about 66 percent less oxygen than there would be at sea level.
Another is the temperature at the summit that never gets above freezing and can be as cold as -76 degrees F during the winter months.
However, the leading cause of death on Mount Everest is avalanches.
